1. Information We Collect
DocZeeq works offline by default. We collect minimal information:
- Your profile name and document type (stored only on your device)
- Documents you save to the app (stored only on your device)
- Document expiry dates and checklist progress (stored only on your device)
We do NOT collect usage analytics or advertising identifiers. The only data that ever leaves your device is described in Section 2 (Optional Cloud AI Features), and only when you choose to use those specific tools.
2. Optional Cloud AI Features
DocZeeq includes a set of clearly-labelled "Online" AI tools (such as Chat with PDF, Smart Summarizer, AI Data Extractor, Agreement Analyzer, Multi-Document Q&A, OCR Correction, AI Form Filler, Renewal Assistant, and Scam Check). These are entirely optional:
- Each requires your explicit one-time consent before first use, shown in-app
- For most of these tools, only the extracted TEXT from your document (never the original file, image, or PDF itself) is sent to our secure backend server for AI processing
- Exception: Scam Check can optionally analyze a photographed message directly — in that specific case, the photo itself (not the original document saved in your wallet) is sent instead of extracted text, only for that one check
- That text or photo is used only to generate the response shown to you and is not stored after processing or used to train any model
- You can decline this consent and use all of DocZeeq's other 24+ offline tools without ever sending any data anywhere
- These requests are rate-limited and capped; no account or sign-in is required to use them
3. How Your Data Is Used
Data you provide is used to:
- Organise and display your saved documents, entirely on your device
- Send local notifications about document expiry
- Remember your checklist progress
- Generate a response when you explicitly use an Optional Cloud AI Feature (Section 2)
No data is transmitted to any server or third party outside of the two cases above (your own use of the share button, or your own use of an Optional Cloud AI Feature).
4. Data Security
Your documents never leave your device unless you explicitly share them or use an Optional Cloud AI Feature (Section 2):
- All offline document processing (PDF conversion, compression, OCR, scanning) happens on-device
- Vaulted documents are encrypted at rest (AES-256) and protected by PIN/biometric lock
- Translation models (Legal Translator) are downloaded once and stored locally
- Optional Cloud AI requests are sent over HTTPS to our backend and are not stored after processing
- You can delete all app data at any time from Settings → Clear Data
5. Third-Party Services
DocZeeq uses the following third-party components:
- Google ML Kit (Translation / OCR / Barcode) — runs on-device after an initial one-time model download; Google's privacy policy applies to that download
- Syncfusion Flutter PDF — all processing is local
- Our own backend (operated by DocZeeq) — only receives data when you use an Optional Cloud AI Feature, as described in Section 2
No advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs are included.
6. Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Delete individual documents from the Documents tab
- Clear all app data from Settings → Clear Data
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data
Since we do not require an account or store your documents server-side, there is no account to delete.
